About Butterfly Child Care

My name is Ms. Marie and I am the Owner/Provider of Butterfly Child Care established in 2004. I currently have a licensed substitute who works with me.

I am part of a network called All Our Kin which provide support services and ongoing professional development for family child care providers. Through this support service, I attend workshops, classes, and other resources to continue to provide quality inner city childcare.

About The Children

The children are encouraged to learn through play working toward their individual milestones or age-specific tasks that most children do by a certain age. This is done in a variety of ways such as themes, developmentally appropriate activities, and field trips just to name a few. These activities are provided in a child-centered environment and our small mixed age group gives more one-on-one time with each child. In addition, each child will learn about their world through observing, comparing, classifying, reasoning-through, and self-correcting. The children are encouraged and are happy to explore their world inside and outside; therefore, they don't miss the television because I don't use one.
